Hobo with a Shotgun is one of the fake trailers that played with Grindhouse. Director Jason Eisener won a contest and his trailer played with the Canadian release. It got a great reaction during the screening I was at. Here is the video and he has a website up. Check it Out HERE

Welcome to the Grindhouse - Black Candles / Evil Eye Double Feature DVD
Joe Dante Resurrects 'Trailers From Hell'
Bloody-Disgusting.com reported this story about a new Joe Dante trailer project. The trailers from Grindhouse were great and its good to see another project about trailers. Trailers have become pretty cookie cutter lately, but a great trailer is a work of art.
"After Grindhouse opened up the idea and then director Eli Roth teased his own feature film film based on the concept, today a few horror legends decided to team-up and make their own horror trailers. "Gremlins" director Joe Dante can recount endless anecdotes about Roger Corman movies, and with his new project Trailers From Hell. "

"STIPP: It’s been a busy year for you with not only this but with GRINDHOUSE as well and has it informed your sense of how you want to take your career, going forward?
WINSTEAD: Yeah. I’ve just been having such a great time sort of playing these supporting roles in these great films where I get to be completely different. I’m just been so appreciative that I’ve had these kind of little nuggets of just really fun, interesting roles to play. I just want to do that as much as I can, find my way onto more great sets. GRINDHOUSE was one of the greatest experiences ever, just to be on the set with Quentin Tarantino who’s the most enthusiastic, joyous person to work with…and to see his child-like excitement about being on set and making a movie…I just kind of want that same thing. Just to have as much fun as possible and work."

Brief Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez Interview
Here is a short video clip about Grindhouse from Reelz.
Grindhouse Box Office Update and Why it matters
Grindhouse has now been in theaters for 17 days and its made $22,717,000. Which means after foreign and DVD releases and a possible re-release as separate films in the U.S it will make a nice profit. However, its still bad news for film fans. Real film fans know that box office profit and the quality of a film experience have nothing in common, but when great films do poorly it means we are less likely to see these types of films. Grindhouse was the first double feature in the mainstream in a long time, and its lack of success at the box office probably means it will be a long time before another one comes out. Grindhouse was meant to be an experience, I saw it in a packed showing and it was a blast start to finish. Do yourself a favor and see this one in the theater when you still have a chance.
Grindhouse on No Good TV
Here is the Grindhouse special that aired at No Good TV. I think it easily sets a new record for the number of times it uses the F word in a movie promo. This is not your typical EPK shit.
Grindhouse Posters
Just like the exploitation films that inspired Grindhouse, there are some great posters for this film. In a future post, we'll look at some classic "grindhouse" posters. For now check out the Grindhouse poster gallery
